** Please note that the 2011-2012 Catholic Leadership Program has been postponed. Please check back in the future for updated program dates and details. If you are still interested in participating, please feel free to contact the OCY **

The Catholic Leadership Program is a program that aims to form young people to be active witnesses of the Gospel. Through prayer, the celebration of the sacraments, lively talks, hands-on activities, group discussions and much more, participants develop their understanding of the Catholic faith, build essential leadership skills, and learn many concrete ways to put their faith into action. At the end of the program, participants are empowered and motivated with the knowledge, skills and faith to live out their call as young Catholic leaders in their communities.

The Catholic Leadership Program is open for young people ages 14-19.

Formation Sessions

Participants must attend all formation sessions. In these sessions, youth come to understand the different aspects of Catholic leadership, as well as prepare themselves in spirit and skill to act.

Journaling Responses
In between each session, participants must respond to several journal questions pertaining to the previous session and their ongoing development as a Catholic leader. Responses to journal questions will be collected at the following session and reviewed by program facilitators.

Final Assignment
Participants are required to complete a final assignment that challenges them to put the knowledge, skills and faith they have developed into action. They will create a formal proposal and plan for a project they would like to potentially lead in their respective community after the completion of the Catholic Leadership Program. Assignment details will be distributed at the start of the program.

Completion of Program

Upon successful completion of the program (i.e. attendance of all five sessions, completion of all journal responses and the final assignment), participants will be empowered with the tools to serve their community and invited to apply themselves as young Catholic leaders in their respective parishes, schools and communities. In recognition of their achievement, graduates will receive a certificate of completion, as well as be invited by the Office of Catholic Youth to take a greater role in the planning and implementation of its Archdiocesan youth programs and events.
