Palm Sunday is recognized internationally as the World Day of Youth. This celebration, including catechesis, praise and worship and Mass at St. Michael’s Cathedral in downtown Toronto, launches the annual WYD theme as chosen by the Holy Father. All are welcome. The theme for 2010 is:

"Good Teacher, What Must I do to Inherit Eternal Life?"
Mk 10: 17

Congratulations to Alyssa Kaye Andino, winner of the OCY's prayer card art contest. The OCY asked youth ages 14-19 to create an image to reflect this year’s World Youth Day theme: “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”. We received many unique and beautiful entries but the winning prayer card was created by Alyssa. The prayer card, which was distributed at the WYD Palm Sunday event is Alyssa’s representation of the scripture passage and that material things become a block between us and God and that we must conquer that block to reach Him. The back of the prayer card features the Prayer for Young People. For her creativity, originality and unique use of photography and digital media we congratulate Alyssa.

If you would like a copy of the prayer card please contact Helene Carluen, Media Assistant at (416) 599-7676 Ext. 221 or helene@ocytoronto.org
